How to Create a Secure SharePoint Site Using https:// with a Digitally Signed Certificate (Video Series)
Video Category:
SharePoint Administration: Common Tasks and Tools
Skill Level:
500 (Advanced)
Versions/Editions Covered:
SharePoint 2007
For sensitive company data that you want to protect from snoops, you'll want to protect your SharePoint sites with https:// instead of the standard http:// access. To do so, you'll need to install a digitally-signed certificate. There are different types of certificates but, if you want your certificate to be used on the internet (a.k.a. the interwebs), you'll need to use a certificate signed by a Certificate Authority. This series shows you the entire process - from purchasing the certificate, to applying the certificate, and how to enable SharePoint to use the new secure access.
Do you have to protect sensitive data? Then you'll want to watch this five-part series!
